How long have you been with The Gatesworth
15 fun years and I've really enjoyed working at The Gatesworth.
What are the responsibilities of your position?
I enforce policies and procedures, maintain a safe working environment, screen people entering the building, monitor fire emergency systems, check and receive packages, handle medication scheduling, and manage department hours.
What’s a typical day like for you at work?
My day usually involves a balance of overseeing safety protocols, managing deliveries, and ensuring everything runs smoothly for our residents and staff. Every day is different, but it's always busy and rewarding.
What do you enjoy most about working at The Gatesworth?
The people, both my co-workers and the residents. They make it a special place to work.
What’s the most challenging part of your job?
Juggling delivery and service vehicles with only two loading docks can be tricky, but we make it work.
What is your background?
I spent 21 years as a public safety officer at the Saint Louis Galleria before coming to The Gatesworth.
What drew you to work at The Gatesworth?
I was looking for a part-time job to help put my son through private school, and The Gatesworth was a great fit.
What are you grateful for at The Gatesworth?
I’m grateful to be in a position where I can help people every day. The residents are what make my job meaningful.
What’s one interesting fact about you that not many people know?
I was a disc jockey!
What’s a memorable experience you’ve had at work?
One thing that stands out to me is how The Gatesworth really focuses on hiring the best employees with the best personalities. It’s important to have a great smile!

Where is your hometown? Saint Louis, Missouri.
Can you share a bit about your education? I went to University City High School and studied at Harris-Stowe State College, where I was awarded a baseball scholarship.
What are your hobbies or interests? I enjoy bowling and fishing in my free time.
What’s your favorite food? I love seafood and BBQ.
Do you have a favorite book, movie, or TV show? I enjoy sci-fi and Western movies and my favorite TV show is Law & Order
